    Hey there!
Has anyone noticed the changes made to the eligibility section of the application pages? I'm pretty sure used to be different?

To be eligible to apply for the Australia & New Zealand Cultural Exchange Program, you MUST
    • Speak English fluently.
    • Be at least 18 years of age to apply.
    • Be a citizen of Australia or New Zealand.
    • Have completed year 12 and are now a current full-time student at an accredited post-secondary University, TAFE or Polytechnic institution acquiring a Bachelors Degree, Diploma or a Certificate. Current program of study must be at least 1-year in length (candidates enrolled in accelerated 6-month programs are not eligible unless enrolled in consecutive 6-month programs that total at least 1 year and are within the same field/similar field of study).
    • Have completed at least their first year of full time study.
    • Be studying your post-secondary courses in a classroom. If you are taking classes full-time via correspondence or the majority of your courses online, you are not eligible.
    • If you have earned a Bachelor's Degree you may also apply but must start work at Walt Disney World® Resort within 12 months of your graduation date.
    • If you are enrolled in an Advanced Diploma, Diploma, or Certificate program, you must have completed your first full year of study and be actively enrolled in your educational institution. Graduates of these programs are not eligible.
    • Not defer the semester prior to your arrival.
    • Be fully available to work Sunday through Saturday, including days and nights, holidays and overtime.

    Hey Amanda
I think that too! I thought everyone could apply up to 12m after their course finishes, and my course is only one year so I don't think can apply now cause I haven't done a full year :(

    Hey Amellia!
Well I emailed recruiting about it and they are going to call me next week to discuss it, so I'll keep you posted :). I actually applied for Jan 2015 as a current student (I graduate in December), but I didn't get an interview :-( I wondered if it was to do with my eligibility, because doing a course as opposed to uni seems to be a little more confusing haha. Anyway I've had a really hard time hearing back from them about my eligibility so fingers crossed it's good news!

Eh it's hard to say but it's kinda killed my hopes and dreams now hahahahaha (dramatic) waiting for an email :(
I go to christchurch polytechnic, it is a legit course an everything but only a 'certificate'. Kinda annoyed now because on one of the vlogs I watched, she said it was best to apply in the first 7 days :/

Ive emailed them and waiting for a reply too, i finished a 3 year degree at Waikato Uni then jump straight into an extra year doing my masters (which I'm doing now, finish nov this year, graduate april next year)..im confused with the eligibility because technically I've completed my first year of study, but since my masters is sort of different, the next step up, and is only for one full year I'm not sure if I'm ok...I applied anyway. fingers crossed its all ok!

Yeah I can't really say much for the new eligibility stuff but for the last intake I think you both would have been fine! It used to just say 1 year of full time tertiary study, and either be a current student of have graduated within the past year.
I will now be a recent graduate (theres no way I could do the program as a current student because my course doesn't have semesters or anything.. of that's what that part means?
I'm a student at Yoobee, so I'm in my second year of an advanced diploma.

Oh and I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter when you apply! :) They said they just view all applications as they come in, and I don't think there's exactly limited places, as far as I know anyway.

Just an update..I heard back about my eligibility, i hope you hear back soon Amelia!

The reply said "Thank you for your message. As you have went straight from your undergraduate study straight to your masters without a break in between, you should still be qualified as the requirement is one year collegiate coursework. Best of luck!"

Hope this helps anyone else. :)

Then I wanted to clarify a few things so I sent them an email on the 12th and they replied this morning the 14th. Have they not replied yet to you? what email address are you using to contact them? this is the one i use wdw.int.recruiting@disney.com

Thats crazy!!!! maybe send a followup?? my email was quite lengthy too, i thought they wouldn't reply. Im not sure if it was someone over there or a recruiter here who replied but I strategically sent it at night to try time it with the USA morning times so it wouldn't get lost. If someone from here replied then they'd see it in the morning also once they got to work or whatever lol

That's great that you are eligible! Yay!
I'm sure they will get back to you soon! Otherwise you could always call them, I'm pretty sure there's a phone number on the email you get when you apply.

Well I applied for Jan a few months ago, I just spoke to Jill on the phone this morning. Apparently the reason I didn't get in (to the interview stage anyway) was because she misunderstood my application and thought I hadn't completed a year of study even though I had. It's taken me soo long to get in touch with them properly so unfortunately I've missed out. :'( So disapointed! I can't apply for August because of the new changes to eligibilty, unless I pursue further study..
My school doesn't offer degrees so I could transfer into the third year of a uni degree somewhere else for 2015 but then, I don't know if I would be able to go in August... So confusing! I need to do some more research I think haha

What a total bummer!! i understand they'd have many applications to get through but it would be nice to have some sort of followup to why you haven't made it in..i check my dashboard everyday and its still the same..i wish they could make some sort of exception for you especially since it was their mistake..

Yeah it's actually so disappointing!! But it's just bad luck I guess, not much I can do now :-(. Yeah I'm sure they're really busy especially at the moment. I've called and emailed them so many times over the past couple of months because I thought there could be a misunderstanding, but I never had the chance to talk to an actual recruiter so they just told me it was probably because I wasn't a strong candidate for whichever reason, which is understandable as they can't let everyone in. But finally I got to speak to Jill who was able to look at my application and tell me what went wrong. It wouldn't be so bad if I could try again, buuut it doesn't look like I can at this stage
