im canadian and ive ben totaly swamped with exams/scholarship aplications/univeristy applications AM I TOO LATE TO SEND MY CV AWAY?! i havent even written it! SHOULD I BE IN TEARS?
i'm from canada too and send mine in just a couple days ago and got an email saying i'd hear back in 8-10 weeks. so i'm thinking that i'm pretty early, so you should be just fine. That's for going in feb 09 and later. cheers
I'm amazed you received a reply! I applied to Yummy Jobs and a few weeks later I received a response from week later thaking me for registering and if I wanted to apply to do it soon! (I was thinking in the back of my mind...are they THAT backlogged they have not realized that I have already applied?) When I first received an email from them my stomach dropped I thought I was already getting the ball rolling only to be going in reverse!
well i want to work there starting april next year ( have to finish one year of uni) do i just send my cover letter to yummy? what about the application? or a resume? im just a mess
just send in a cover letter and a resume. i think you can ask for a time to leave at the interview but it's them that decides when they need you to go and then you can say no or that it has to be later or something like that...i think.
It might be worth just e-mailing Kristen (I think her e-mail address is kristen@yummyjobs.com) as well as she will be able to give you more concise dates about when to apply. I doubt that you are too late at all as I know that to be going in December you are told to apply in July - that is for the UK but I doubt that it would be much different for Canada.
In Canada when you apply depends on where you live. Generally they do interviews in the West in the Fall (apply in the Summer) and interviews out east (Halifax, Montreal, Toronto) in February (apply in the Winter). Unless you're willing to fly across the country, only apply to the interview in your area . You get to mention your availability dates during the face to face interview, so you can always mention that you aren't available until April.
yeah, basically for the year long program there are many dates throughout the year, so i think your applying within lots of time
I applied for last years July cut-off and got an e-mail saying i'd hear back within 4 weeks etc etc. But didn't actually get an interview until this March. So yeah, even though I applied with plenty of time and got a response I missed that first set of interviews. I think they really are that backlogged!
Depends what part of Canada your from. If your from the east end your super early. Thoese interviews arnt till like Feb or March. But if your from the west end then your right on time. I applied last July and got my interview in Feb. So guess you can never be too early. But I think either way your pritty safe. Your either early or on time.
