Does anyone bike down there? Is it even possible to get around by bike, or is everything pretty much highway down there?
I was there in 2002 so maybe it has changed but I did bring my bike down there and I was able to go to all the major stores. I enjoy riding my bike so it was sooo good for me to have it down there. You could buy a cheap one there and at least use it to go grocery shopping and ride around. some of the major roads have cycling paths and it gives you more freedom !!!! sophie
I kind of recall that you aren't able to actually KEEP your bike in the Commons - I saw bikes chained up across the road from the gate. I don't think you are legally allowed to ride on the highways unless there is a sidewalk, so you are rather limited to where you may go. I rollerbladed on the 535 (closet major road) and thought I was going to DIE - cars EVERYWHERE! At the same time, I do wish I had a bike while there. Maybe you could keep it in your too-small room rather than chain it up across the street? ~ Jen
Hey Jen !! I use to read your disney blog when you were there ! brought me back lots of memories !! Im glad you had a fun time. We were not allowed to have bikes in the commons so I use to keep it chained up ... rollerblades are good and not too expensive so its fun to have them to be able to go places near !! Sophie :-*
Why don't they allow bikes in the Commons? Seems it would be much less annoying for everyone than a car.
thats right, i rememebr you werent allowed bikes or even allowed to rollerblade in the commons. Probably something to do with insurance, incase you crashed or something, maybe they didn't want to be liable. There is a lot of law suits in the states after all.
yeah, my big mate charlie had a motorbike, used to ride it to work in the morning, it was a cool machine. He had a parking permit to park it in the commons. No mountain bike though or rollerblades, whaaaayyy to dangerous :
Ahhh!! Really?!?! hee hee... I was so bad at keeping it updated... too much fun to be had But I do the same thing now that I'm home - trying to re-live it through everyone else ~ Jen
