Just felt like saying hi to everyone here! I've been lurking around a bit, but I'm fairly new to all of this. I, like most other people here, am very eager to get a job working for Disney. I haven't applied yet but I will soon, just want to make sure I do everything the right way. I've written my resume and made a powerpoint presentation out of it (read they like you to be creative ). I like my CV but I'm still a little unsure about it, and now I have to write my cover letter. Any good ideas before I mess up completely? :S Hehe. I just really want this job, so if anyone would like to help out with a few ideas of how to make the application right for Disney I would be more than grateful I'm from Norway btw, so hoping to get into the Norway pavilion of Epcot. Are there any more Norwegians here? I haven't found many...(maybe that's a good thing for me then that Norway is such a small country hehe) Well anyways, I must say this website has been very helpful! Good luck to you all!
Hei på deg Cecilie! I did the program with Disney a few years ago (still seems like it was yesterday) It's very inportaint to face reality before you apply! You'll hate your job alot, you'll work long shifts, you'll be sick of stupid guests (there should be a book about stupid comments) there'll be alot of partying (good and bad), and you'll be homesick... But if you can forget about this and just have fun on your days of (which there aren't many of :-\ ) go travelling, meet tons of great ppl, and just enjoy life you will have SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FUN! And: If you're norwegian, you'll get a job... They need all the norwegians they can get. Cause there are just about a 100 ppl that apply each year and they need about 120! So unless you have a tattoo in your face or piercings you're not willing to remove while on interview/on job you will get it! You will get a job in the Norwegian Pavillion, nowhere else! That's for sure! They don't give you a job in the german pavillion, that's where germans work, and not in the other parks, cause there are plenty of americans to do work there! There are interviews twice a year in oslo, spring and fall so if you applie now you might get to go to the fall one and you probably will get a job between Desember 06/ june 07 If you go to the spring interview you might get a job from april 07/ Desember 07. A strong economical advice: I recommend Food&Beverage!! Check out www.norgespaviljongen.com Good luck!
Wow! That makes me happy! Thank you/tusen takk. I knew I had a pretty good chance of getting a job as a Norwegian, but I didn't realise it was that good =) And I am fully aware of the fact that it won't all be a fairytale, but I am more that willing to accept that though. When I discovered this opportunity I had just began searching the net for possibilities of working abroad for a year. As I don't know what I want to study yet, I had already decided that I wanted to work abroad for a year after I am done doing the International Baccalaureate in Trondheim. It's not that easy for me to get a job abroad, and obviously then Disney will be my very best option Hehe, I know I have to apply for the Norway pavilion and off course that is where I want to go, not the German one I still really would have loved to work in Entertainment there though, but who knows.. maybe I'll apply for that the year after I'm sure you have to obtain your own visa though if your applying for other jobs at WDW, but quite frankly I'm happy with the Norway pavilion I have checked out norgespaviljongen and actually gotten a lot of help form a guy I emailed there too. He told me that there was no point in waiting and that I should go to the interviews this fall. I can't go until after May 07, but apparently they like to schedule things early, and this guy told me I would have a greater chance at getting to go when I want to if I apply this fall. June/July 07 would work great for me Also, may I ask you something about applying in Norway?... Are there phone interviews here?... I haven't heared anything about it, but it seems apparent in this forum that they do have them, but I guess that would be an unnecessary step if everyone gets in in Norway?
Hey there I've just applied and I'm from Norway I've got a mail three days after I sent my application that I had to call for a phone interview.. I was soo nervous.. They only ask about stuff like if you are ready to move away from your friends and family for a year and if you have any piercings or tattoos and stuff like that.. Nothing to worry about actually.. So where are you from? How old are you? And do everyone from Norway get a job?? wooow.. I'm so excited now ;D can't wait to get down there, but I can't leave until june/july 2007... long time to wait :-\ Hope I'll se you down there! Lykke til!! -Stine-
wow! You want to leave the same time I do! Yay! You should be my friend hehe I see you're 17, well so am I (soon 18)! =) I'm going to apply soon! I'm from Trondheim where I am doing the IB at the moment. I also can't wait to get down there! If we both get the job, as I'm convinced we do now , then I'm sure I will see you down there Where are you from in Norway? You're the first Norwegian I've discovered who wants to leave the same time I do! Do you use msn? We should talk! =)
