Having just learned about the international program, I have a few burning questions: - Is there a need for previous experience with food service in order to serve food in the restaurants? - Is it a good way to save up for college? and - Are there any opportunities to continue working in the Disney parks after your contract is up? Any answers would be great, thank you! Alicia
Hi Alicia Welcome to the boards. I dont think you need F and B experience , any customer service experience is good. I dont know if its a good way to save up - one of the alumni would be able to answer. Prob depends if you want to travel or not the pays just over $6 which is a lot less than youd get in the UK but for me its kindof more about the experience. In terms of working in disney in America after, the cruiselines is the only option i think. The longest they can extend your contract is 3 months and i dont think that happens unless they are v short staffed. I asked alumni if you can work in the parks after you finish and given how strict US visa/immigration law is they said it was highly unlikely unless you marry an american! Tho you could go work in Euro Disney. Hope this helps at all. Good Luck, Marie xxx
Hi Alicia!!! Dont worry if you have no food and bev experience!!! I have none at all and have been offered a f&b position!!! To be honest i think they prefer you not to have any experience!! They said at the interview theres the 'right way' the 'wrong way' and the 'disney way' so at leats if youve never done it before they wont have to undo any bad habits you may have picked up in previous jobs!!! Like Marie said - they just like you to have some customer sevrice exp as serviece is v important to disney!! Good luck with your application!!
Hi there I'm just going to add on to what already be said above lol. The biggest thing they look for is character amd personality. You gotta be a happy person and have lots of energy. That's what they mainly looking for. Job experience is not too important but like it said above any retail job would help. Hope that helps Gary
