Bring a travel adapter - the amount of people that forgot was silly. Also make sure you can walk in the shoes you bring to wear for traditions. I stupidly brought the most uncomfortable shoes ever and didn't have time to change them before the class. That's about it really - oh and friends addresses back home as you are bound to forget one and a list of birthdays for them (OK incase you can't tell my brain tends to forget things like this easily).

A warm fall jacket!!! It may be Florida but it does get chilly there in the winter months, usually starting in late November and going to early February.
I brought a jacket and I am sooooo glad I did otherwise I would have been freezing my arse off those months!
This is a given, but don't forget a camera! You're going to want to start taking pictures right away from day one!
Phone cards so you can call home. You can't call long distance from the Commons unless you have a phone card or you're calling collect.
Pictures of family and friends. On the rare days that you're homesick, you'll be happy you have them.
A set of sheets. The Commons provide them for you, but it's always nice not to have to sleep in sheets that other people have done who-knows-what in/on them ;)

P.S. What not to bring............... Your whole wardrobe!!! You will buy a whole new one over the course of a year and then some! It's not cheap to ship things home!
