Hi, Thought I would start up a discussion for anyone who is going or thinking of going or will be in Disney during 2010. When I went over in 2007/2008 I met all my housemates on here (even though I didnt know it at the time). There will be some Alumni on here too so feel free to ask questions if your new and we'll do the best to answer :)

    Well, hello!
No need to introduce myself to Carmen, as we're good friends. However, for everyone else- hello! I'm Ben, aka Ted Flint.

I shall definately be trying to return to WDW in 2010, as I had such an amazing time in 2007/8 (and meeting the wonderful Carmen!)

Ahh its only because of Ben I am going back, I should be staying home in Australia and using that time to grow up.

Once you've had a mouse as your boss, you have a licence to never grow up!

    Hey Charkfin,

I'm not sure I'm going to be making it back over anymore...damn finishing uni and the 'world of opportunity' it creates!

Ted Flint and I are both from Adelaide, we met on the Summer Program (which they dont run anymore) 07/08

Loz was also on that same program and we were roomies, She is from Townsville (I hope I got that right) Lauren just had her interview to go back next year, she will have no problems getting in tho, she's very good friends with Goofy ;)

Good Luck and you will have a blast when you get there.

    Hey :)
There are lots from Adelaide because before STB or whoever it is now took it over, the applications were done thru Adelaide and we had face to face interviews etc, now its just phone interviews. I dont remember anyone from Perth doing it when I did it, mainly the eastern states and Adelaide. UniSA was a big advertiser of it. I'm Studying a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education....so it kinda works well with the whole Disney thing and myself being a big kid, however its also kinda frowned upon because of the mass commercialism and marketing to kids aspect too. I dont know what I believe yet, just that I love watching Disney movies when I'm sick....I think that comes from my childhood when mum used to put on a movie so she could go back to bed. (Middle of the night cries that I'm sick).

Just found out that Lauren got back in, she leaves in January and is going for a year. If you have MSN add me and I'll put you in contact with her. She has a minimum disney quota that she has to speak a day, and she always tries to make it her personal best lol. My msn I think I have on here, if not its my user name at hotmail.

    Have a good one :)

    Hi all!

Im very very very very keen to apply for the program in 2010. Im currently in my first year out of uni (finished at degree in IT at Macquarie semester 2 last year) and am ready to drop my current job and figure out what I want to do in life. I figure what better way than doing it at DisneyWorld!

I plan on putting in my CV ASAP but I have a question I wonder if anybody could answer:

    - According to the printout I have for applications, for recent graduates you need to start the program within 12 months of graduating. I don't know if these programs run from Jan to Dec, or from Month X to Month Y, I also wonder how 'tight' they are on this requirement. I hope I haven't missed out!!

Heres hoping I still have a shot at the 2010 program, and that I didn't find out about this stuff until all too late!

    Cheers

    - Scott

    Hey Scoot,

I think they tend to run from month x-y rather than jan-dec, however get your resume sent off THIS WEEK LIKE RIGHT THIS SECOND Lauren just found out this week that she has been accepted for next year, so they are currently doing an intake, I'd apply pronto so you can get in on the same intake.

Lauren has already done it once (with me, we were roomies) so she has a wealth of knowledge, and a great person to start off with. She has lots of contacts there already too. As with Charkfin, if you add me on msn or send me an email, I'll give you lauren's contact details. I'm sure that she would be more than happy to share the Disney love with you. :)

    Cheers
    Carmen

Damn Carmen! You have to stop talking me up! They're going to think I'm six feet tall and -oh, wait, I am. :)

Hey Chark, hey scoot. Hope I see you in the parks. I only just remembered my password, which is why I've been so quiet.
If you have any queries, let me know. There's also a facebook site called STB australia or something similar.
    Loz

First 6 months I am doing Character Performer (as long as I pass the audition) and the second 6 months I will be doing attractions!

Really happy with what I got because I put these as my first 2 preferences.

Yeh I really like how if you stay a year, you get to try 2 jobs! I didn't know that they did that... Maybe most people only stay for 6 months.
