Canadians applying in July 2010

Age: 18 (finally >.<)
Occupation: Book clerk, Promotions Assistant for Kelowna Rockets, Jr. Ambassador at the airport and am hoping to apply for WestJet in the near future (coincidence, Jan?). Gotta fill those hours!
Location: Kelowna, B.C.
Applied before?: Nope. Tried back in January but then I was only 17. It was a trying 6 months of waiting.

I applied at 12:30 am my time on June 1st I was THAT excited to get into Disney. Being as I'm weird that way, it's no wonder I got my 'We'll call you soon' email a week and a half after.

Good luck everybody and fingers crossed for the UK emails to come in!

This is what the email i received after i sent in my application said:

Greetings! Thank you very much for submitting your Yummy application for Disney's Cultural Representative Program! We have confirmed your interest and one of our dedicated team members will review your application. For UK applicants, you will receive a response no later than September 17th 2010, approximately two weeks after this seasons closing date of September 6th 2010. For Canadian applicants, we will begin reviewing applications in July 2010 and you should receive a response within 3-4 weeks of submitting your application, from July 1st 2010 onwards. The closing date for Canadian applicants is December 31st 2010. We wish you all the best and look forward to contacting you soon! Kind regards,The Yummy Jobs Team

So it sounds as if UK people won't hear anything until after the closing date. Hope that helps, probably won't make you any less anxious though but at least there is a date to look forward to!!

 

yeah we got the same email when we sent our apps in, i just dont really see the logic behind it to be honest, i cant understand why they open the UK apps in june and havent even started to get back to us and yet canadian apps have only been open since july 1st and they are starting to get back to you guys now...there must be some method in the madness but cant for the life of me figure out what?!

 

Maybe there are more applicants in the UK? Yummyjobs IS located there afterall. Maybe they can get to more colleges/universities and, therefore, get more applicants.

Hey, did anyone else get an email concerning the phone interview yet? I got it this morning, saying Kirsten will be calling sometime this week. I kind of stared at the email for a good 5 seconds before opening it :-[ ;D

I have been wanting to apply for the cultural rep program for years now but life just keeps getting in the way but ive decided that 2011 will be my year!! (hopefully LOL) Ive applied and will be having my phone interview in less than 30 min ;D exciting!!!

I was just wondering, does anyone know when you should apply if you were wanting to go to the spring interviews, because I wouldn't be able to go until after I finish school? Should you apply now, or wait until a certain time? I was looking on yummy jobs site but I couldn't really see anything. Thanks!

 

Someone correct me if im wrong but I believe the deadline to apply for the 2011 program is sometime in December. If you are successful in your initial phone interview you will be asked your preference for attending interviews (either fall this year or spring next year)

I would apply now and just make sure your start date on your application reflects the date your finished school...Good luck!!!

when are the start dates for those of you that just applied?

 

For Canadians it would be a start date sometime in early 2011. I am hoping Jan. so I can get out of the cold, cold winter!!!

 

Im with you on that!! Although when I was at WDW this past January they hit record lows and wore my winter coat and mitts the whole trip ..but id still rather freeze in Disney than anywhere else ;D

 

WOUHOU!! have sent my resume 2-3 weeks ago and they just pely saying they will contacting me in the next 3 weeks for the next step...Hopes it will come fast!!!

 

Congrats! I just had my telephone interview today and it went well I think! It was pretty quick, 5-10 minutes! A few simple questions and then some random chat!
