Can we *please* be more anti-spam? I can't believe that one in Applicants FAQ that was posted in the wee hours of this morning is still there. We have some really young people on here and it's not very Disney is it?!

I know it's not your fault it gets here but maybe we can be a bit quicker to get rid of it. Are there any filters to try and avoid this? I don't want to choke free speech or anything I just don't particularly want to see porn when I'm on wdwip.com! And I hate the idea of a first timer to the boards seeing that as the first topic! Eek! Plenty of other repositories for that online if so desired haha. And posts that say
money, banks, loan, credit, reference, cbd, quick, account, apr
    are suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu  - inducing!

Anyways, I know it's just here and there right now but when I joined just a few months ago, there was none and it's just going to escalate if we leave it :(

Sorry to be a pain in the arse but I'm sure there's not many people who are exactly thrilled about it :p

Aii now I feel evil and non-christmassy!

    *must not get complex*

I do believe in free speech and these boards are made so that you can post anything you want and also I like free porn as much as the next person but I agree that this is not the place. I know young people who read and frequent this site. my 14 year old cousin for example and this is not the place where someone should see this. Even though this site is not an official Disney site I don't want to see porn on here and I don't want my 14 year old cousin seeing it either. This site should be a happy place to chat and think about Disney not about stuff like this. I did not appreciate having to walk into the family room to see my 14 year old cousin watching a video of a girl playing with herself and stuff that I am not going to mention and then having to talk to my cousin about it. Anyways not to blame anyone on here other then whoever posted it. Thanks for listening to me vent.

we know its not nice to see that kind of topic here, but the fastest way to clean the boards its reporting them! we are like all you, person with real life, i can speak for myself that when i recive a report i always check the topic and if it spam i delete it, cuz like u say its not the place, but plz report them, i try to keep an eye on the boards but there sometimes that the school, work, dont leave time to do it, so when i came and see one report sometime the post its still there and delete it, or sometimes other moderators have alredy delete it, unfortanly this is a public website, anyone can join and post whatever they want, even if we say plz dont post spam, all we can do is erase them ;) so, plz of u see something spam, or comments that think its not the pace to be said, plz report them and be sure we will check them ;D

hmmm... I hate to point out the obvious or be a nag or anything, but I have clicked on the report to moderators tag for the porn post, and yet the post, after all this discussion, IS STILL ON THE BOARD! can someone please take it down?

Also, would it be possible to have a notify the moderators link without having to see the post-- cuz I could tell without clicking on the porn post that it was not appropriate for this site, but to notify the moderators of its existence I had to click on it.

    Hi all,

I agree with everyone - it's annoying and it has been increasing.

The main problem is that we are able to stop automated spammers using filters and the e-mail-activation to register. But these recent ones are actual people taking the time to register using a valid account and posting themselves. I guess they get paid to do this perhaps??

I can add 'ban' filters to ban by e-mail address, IP address, and wildcards. So far, I have banned a number of eastern European e-mail domains. Believe it or not, we had 2000 people with *.ru e-mail addresses try to register in the last few months. I am willing to bet each and every one is a spammer.

Even if we add those annoying 'type the letters you see' pictures, so long as the spammers are actual people, they can get through.

So basically, the best bet is to report any spam messages. If you don't want to open the message, you can just e-mail me. The fastest way to get in touch with me during the day to to e-mail me at vistaway - at - gmail - dot - com. Please feel free to contact me there if any posts need deleting and/or members needing banning.

    Thanks,

    Andy
