I have two ultimate favs they are Empire Records and Serenity... Quite different but both good in sooooo many ways..

I sold my DVD collection because i couldn't keep it in storage :'( :'(

I'm going to get mine shipped over I think, I'm one of those sad people who like to have the boxes so I can sit and look at them and admire them. I can't believe I just admitted that.

Does anyone know how long it takes for things to arrive when you get it shipped over?

don't take serenity with you, wait for the new special edition that's coming out shortly!! the re-release isn't too far away, (august 21) so we can replace it out there (if you can wait two months!). it's what I'm doing. Commentary with the cast. yay! hrm, last time I was out I had to leave things behind because I couldn't fit everything in to bring home and my parents too three more trips to get them home so I know I'll buy a lot. but my fave films I can actually live without in many ways for a busy year. I'll rent them if I'm desperate

yeah serenity is incredible i met adam baldwin (jayne) at the london movie and comic book convention a couple years ago - i still have the picture of me and him up on my wall and the signed picture!

copyright law allows u to make copies of films u own for ur own personal use - anyone at the airport is more than welcome to come to cardiff and crawl through my attic and then hunt through the few thousand dvds i have to double check if they want!

Yeah I know Dave, I was so gutted when Firefly was cancelled.

I don't think I could leave home without taking Serenity, City of God, Schindler's List, Dangerous Minds and Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain (Amelie) with me... And maybe The Faculty, D.E.B.S. and Bring it On, just for the memories.

Very excited to hear about new serenity special edition. I love that movie so much i took it and Firefly the series on dvd to florida with me.

Do you realise we're gonna be there for the release of The Dark Knight??? SO exciting.
I am hoping and praying that I will be able to get the time off to go to Comic Con 2008. I don't care how much the flights etc cost. I AM GOING TO COMIC CON.

 

oh i just thought of something - my laptop plays uk region 2 dvds only - so are the dvd players u buy out there like the cheap ones over here that can be unlocked easily?

 

sorry darling, you don't beat me! my con log is vast, my autograph 8x10 folder is overflowing... heck, I have ONE actor that I have over 30 autographs for so I'm the ubergeek of the pack. no one can beat me!!!!

 

I've got my laptop set region one so I'm okay to buy every tv boxset available out there i think all the good movies are covered by everyone else, lol, I may not need to bring my own copies!
the faculty I still haven't seen and feel guilty about because of my jon stewart passion

the only film no one has mentioned yet is the princess bride. i dunno, think i can survive without others, it's tv shows i NEED to have episodes of and they're all ripped on my laptop ready for me

america isn't like britain for multi region players, I think they cost quite a lot to get them over there so maybe not as easy to unlock. but you should have 5 changes for your laptop. i'm down to three now because i've switched twice. it's staying region 1 though now while my pc is on region 2...

 

I'm hoping to still be there on the tail end of my visa for that. I'm planning a trip to california anyway so it would be PERFECT timing to get down to san diego for it. plus there's megacon and the FX show at the orlando orange county convention center (down the road from us!!!) in february and march. and the vulkon convention in november... not that I've checked everything out or anything...

i still want to make it to the big las vegas star trek con if i can too though....
