Seriously gutted right now. I guess at least this year I can build on my cv and stuff. Can't believe we have to have completed a semester. Oh well just have to look on the bright side. Good luck to all those that apply
On the plus side, by next year they'll have ironed out all the kinks on this new application process!! Plus I asked YJ and they told me to upload Cover letter and cv as one document....now you have to do it separately!!
I might give up and try again tomorrow - it keeps deleting all the information, and won't upload the photo. It keeps changing my University to Aberystwyth, and it's randomly changed the date I am available to 1970!!!! Also...the save button is dangerously close to the submit button, and i keep nearly having heart failure! Also..it will only let me add two work experience sections...anyone else having that problem??
I just checked Leeds Met calendar and its the same Hopefully this is just a Disney thing and I'll still be able to apply for Universal Studios program and in that case I'll have to change my Cover Letter so its Potty for Potter.
I'm thinking the same thing. I just need to get out to Florida. Either that or visit my friend in Utah and roadtripping to Vegas and maybe Disneyland in California.
For anyone else wondering about Universal I just got off the live chat with Yummy Jobs and they said.... "Our program with Universal is currently under review so we will post this out on our Facebook when we have more details"
Ok thanks for that! I wonder what that means... I hope they're not changing compliance laws as with Disney
I hope not! If they are I guess this year I will will be getting as much work experience as possible! TO EVERYONE ELSE WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR DISNEY, GOOD LUCK!!!
I'm not sure if we can apply for Universal either. The J1 Visa page itself says 'Have successfully completed at least one semester or equivalent of post-secondary academic study' as well http://j1visa.state.gov/programs/summer-work-travel/#participants fingers crossed though!
Im guessing thats either to apply for a visa or travel with the visa and by the time that process happens we will have been at uni for one semester!
I've never looked into the universal programs before, are they exactly the same as the disney ones? Does anyone have any websites or information on them? thanks
I've got some reading material for you haha!!! http://www.universalorlandojobs.com/students-spotlight/international-programs - Official Website http://kateatuniversal.tumblr.com - A blogger from last year I know someone who has taken part in the program and they had nothing but good things to say about it.
