UK Applicants Summer 2014

Try typing it in rather than using the calendar - for my availability, it wouldn't let me put anything in after 1978!

I'm just going to make my new vlog while I wait...

 

I keep typing in my date of birth, bit every time I save and re-open it vanishes!

Stressing out about cutting down my motivation now...not even started writing for the other box thing! I assume it's still ok just to do a quick summary of the cover letter for the motivation box?

 

I've emailed them as well, waiting on a reply...
I'm assuming so, at least that's what I've done. For the cultural exchange thing, I feel I've gotten quite lucky because I've done one before, so I just wrote a bit about how I know from that what a fun and challenging experience it is etc. etc. etc. What did you put in the final comments box?

 

How much have you written for the cultural box?

 

Not that much, to be perfectly honest. It's only about 100 words. It looks like the document uploads are working now, my CV and Cover letter have been accepted!

Yep just re-opened my application after a nice de-stressing lunch break ( ) and it says my cover letter and CV have been accepted...plus my photo is now GIANT! haha!

My date of birth is staying now as well......still cant put in more than two places of work experience, and it is still hiding all my GCSEs!

 

Just out of curiosity, apart from all the technical difficulties and needing to be at uni for at least one semester, what is different about the application process?

 

You have to put in about five times the amount of info!!! You now have to put in all your passport details and a scan of it, upload a current photo of yourself, they have new boxes where you have to write things like "Why do you value cultural exchange and interaction" and you have to put in your work experience and qualifications individually into the online form.

Before it was the motivation box, a few details like where you go to Uni, and upload a cv and cover letter and boom, you were done!

 

In a way it's good I can't apply because I'm currently in the process of sorting out my new passport (old one expired like a week ago). What do you do if you don't have a valid one at the time of applying?! I assumed as long as you had it for interviews you'd be fine!

 

It only takes a week or so to get a new passport, so you could send off for a new one and still be able to apply by the time it arrives.

 

*cough* shameless self-promotion alert *cough* If you go to my youtube, I just uploaded a video with an in detail description of the application process

and now off to work I go - hopefully it'll all be fixed by the time I'm home, and I'll be able to apply properly!

 

Theres a post from YJ on Yummy Social, saying that if things keep changing and information is disappearing, we have to check back on Monday. :-[ Plus it says to make sure you are using Google Chrome (which I am anyway so no issue there!)

 

Got such a headache now! Spent all day on it so far....think i'm going to give up again, and have another look Monday evening. I switch to working 9 - 7:30 next week though so it's going to a busy week even busier/more stressful! :-\

 

Oh well, I guess the longer it takes for everyone to submit applications (I am doubtful anyone will have managed too yet), the shorter the wait to applications. Always look on the bright side

Argh, I put in a photo on my application but I found a more ahem, attractive one that I could use but it will not let me change it. May have to email YJ about that on Monday...It is annoying how the documents you upload cannot be changed

 

haha! I took mine yesterday after a day in direct sunlight on a farm...so I look rather tired and sweaty, and my hair looks like ive had a bowl cut!!! hahaha! (I most definitely haven't!!) Nevermind.....

 

Ha ha I am sure it does not look that bad and no slagging bowl cuts I am just worried mine will not qualify as 'passport style'. To be fair, as long as they can see your face they probably do not care too much but this is what happens with Disney, like even the smallest thing I am petrified will get me cut out! Literally if I make as much as a typo, that will leave me bricking it

 

Yeah - i know what you mean!! I'm a bit paranoid about this picture thing. Why do we have to upload a picture of ourselves? it makes it feel like they will ged rid of us depending on our looks! My hair covers my ears at the moment, which is not part of the Disney look, so what if they reject me because of that? I can of course cut the hair off if im successfull!

 

YJ messaged me to say that they thought they'd sorted everything out now, I guess I'll go have a wee looksie!
