Is it just me or does anyone else feel slightly cursed by their year in Florida? When i say cursed i mean that everything you do after your year feels quite boring compared to Florida and all the fun you had with the friends you made out there and you miss it all sooooo much! Dont get me wrong i dont regret my year out there but the information pack they send you before you head out there should come with a warning that says: WARNING!! EVERYTHING ELSE WILL SEEM PRETTY CRAP WHEN YOU ARE BACK HOME AND HAVE FINISHED YOUR CONTRACT!! No doubt some other fantastic things will happen in my life but in the meantime i feel a bit cursed!!! I couldnt do the year again as it wouldnt be the same with different people, i just want the ability to turn back the clock!!!
awww yeah, they should give that warning hahaha Maybe go work on DCL? Like doing the program again but different so it won't be like trying to recreate it. I'm hoping to do something like that when I finish.
I agree!!! I felt so bored with everything...and everyone! It was very hard to get used to 'normal' life after WDW!!!!
I totally and 150% agree....I'm looking into Cruise Line jobs...hell, I'd even do the summer program which is sad b/c I JUST got back two months ago. *le sigh*
i agree, too! you start comparing everything to disney and it never can reach the level of fun you had there...and the worst thing is that most of the people back home don't understand! and i really wanna go back! even just for 2 or 3 months!
It is soooo true! No-one quite gets it. Lots of wierd looks Incidentally, did any of you get an e-mail the other day inviting you back for the 'summer' this year? Intl. Recruiting sent it saying they were looking for alumni for a new 'summer' program. I got really excited - before noticing that their interpetation of summer involved working May to November! Which isn't going to happen for me It was nice for the minute or so that it lasted. I still don't see why the summer program is once only...you can get the visa more than once, and they obviously need the cast if they're creating new programs!
Trust me it doesn't get any better. It has been sixteen years since I returned from Epcot and I still flash my disney smile and long for the days when I would be asked a hundred times "where is the bathroom". Once disney is in your blood, it never goes away.
I miss Disney. I freak people out because I'm overly pleasant now LOL. I do have my coworkers telling irrate customers ( I just about said guests just now) to "have a Disney day". It's so great! I actually had a girl come into where I work and she recognized me from the popcorn cart! I couldn't believe it! So funny!!! Emily is right....... LE SIGH. Le Sigh again... Nio
I even learned to say "have a disney day" in Norweign. When you attend the traditions and showmanship classes I think Disney brainwashes everyone. Life is never the same and nothing will ever compare to life in the International program. I can't believe they still throw newby Canadians in the pool. I was unaware of this tradition when I arrived in Jan. All the drinking afterwards warmed me up.
nnnnnnnnnoooooooooooooooooooooooooo you just ruined the throw in surprise for everyone!!! QUICK edit your post and take that out! Don't spill the throw in secrets!!!!!
don't worry tessa. we don't throw anyone into the pool. my guess is that security didn't approve or something because we haven't done that since i've been here at least.
I find everywhere I go now they are like oh im sorry we just cant compare to Disney and I mean they are right they cant. ITs funny though at job interviews everyones always like so your Kristen ok now tell me about Disney. Its like they are obsessed with it and then when they hear how excited I get they are like oh we dont have that and its like dont worry
i got back a year and a half ago and still feel that way. Miss the life there. Went on vacation last nov. I wanna live in Florida...
Cant say i wanna live in florida... Couldn't handle the cockroaches... not to mention the fact that guns are legal, no national health service, dumb southern americans and george bush. But it would be nice to go back and do some sort of alternative disney program and to get all the amazing perks again for a while! Not on tha cards tho... :-\
