These two International Programs are closely related, and many of the required qualifications and job duties are the same. They offer participants with a background in leisure and recreation management the opportunity to work and learn in either the Water Parks or the Resorts.

To apply for either of these Programs, you must be able to pass the Disney Swim Test, which will be administered during your arrival week. The test is fairly basic and should not be a problem for those with good swimming and/or lifesaving training. To pass the test, you must:

* Complete a 200-yard/183m swim in a "reasonable amount of time"
* Tread water for two minutes using your legs only
* Swim 15 yards/13.7m underwater to recover a 10 lb./4.5kg. brick

• Applicants for the Water Park Trainee Program must also hold a current Royal Lifesaving Society Bronze Medalion certification or equivalent.

Work Locations for those in the Water Park Program could include any position in any one of the three Disney Water Parks - River Country, Typhoon Lagoon or Blizzard Beach. You will rotate between various positions within the Parks, and there is a good chance that you will work at more than one Park, as each is closed at least one month of the year for rehab. For those in the Sports & Recreation Program, the Work Locations will be in any one of the Disney resorts, all of which offer recreational facilities that range from basic pools to full recreational facilities. You will most likely move around various positions within the Resort as well.

Participants in both programs will have various mandatory and optional training and development opportunities. The mandatory training will include:

* Disney Traditions
* Ellis and Associates National Pool and Water Park Lifeguard Training
* Bloodborne Pathogens course
* Hazardous Communication
* First Aid
* CPR-Professional Rescue
* Disability Awareness Training

In addition, you will also attend the College Program Business Seminars alongside American particpants in the WDW College Program. There are 28 hours of seminars in total, spread over a few months of your time there. Participants in the Sports & Recreation Trainee Program will also have the opportunity to take a two-week Development Plan in either Leisure Recreation, Resort Recreation, Water Park Recreation, or Sports.
